Ms. Ash, a Malaysian citizen currently residing in Dubai, was previously married to Mr. Omar, an Egyptian citizen now residing in Melbourne. Their divorce took place in Dubai, UAE, in 2012. As Ms. Ash intends to remarry but had not yet registered the divorce in Malaysia, she appointed Mr. Muhammad Iqbal bin Sainy of KIQA Syariah Consultancy to handle the recognition of the divorce in Malaysia. The divorce confirmation was issued by the Egyptian Consulate in Melbourne, Australia, and the Affidavit Confirming the Divorce Certificate was authenticated at the Malaysian Embassy in Melbourne. The Court subsequently recognized the divorce, and it was registered at the Federal Territory Islamic Religious Office.
Ir. Ali and his wife are Malaysian citizens. Ir. Ali appointed Mr. Muhammad Iqbal bin Sainy of KIQA Syariah Consultancy to file a polygamy application. The Syariah Court approved the application pursuant to Section 23 of the Islamic Family Law (State of Selangor) Enactment 2003. Ir. Ali also agreed, through negotiation, to provide maintenance, matrimonial property settlement, and the first wife’s claims, including expenses related to syariah matters, medical care, and the children’s education prior to being granted permission to practice polygamy.
Puan Amirah, a Malaysian citizen, married Mr. Farhan, a Turkish citizen, in Bursa, Türkiye without obtaining prior marriage approval. Upon returning to Malaysia, Puan Amirah appointed Mr. Muhammad Iqbal bin Sainy of KIQA Syariah Consultancy to apply for recognition of the overseas marriage at the Syariah Court. Puan Amirah and Mr. Farhan intend to reside in Malaysia, and failure to obtain a Malaysian marriage certificate would prevent their future child from being legally registered under Mr. Farhan’s name due to the absence of marriage recognition. The Court subsequently recognized the marriage to enable Malaysian citizenship status for their children.
Mr. Robert, a Muslim British expatriate residing in Malaysia, is married to Mrs. Elis, an Indonesian citizen residing in the United Kingdom. Mr. Robert appointed Mr. Muhammad Iqbal bin Sainy of KIQA Syariah Consultancy to apply for polygamy in order to marry his second wife, Mrs. Sofia, a Malaysian citizen. Mr. Muhammad Iqbal coordinated the authentication of official documents without the presence of Mr. Robert and Mrs. Elis at four ministries in Jakarta. After all documents were authenticated, the Court approved the polygamy application. Mr. Robert agreed to provide maintenance, matrimonial property settlement, and related claims for Mrs. Elis. Prior to the marriage, a prenuptial agreement prepared by Mr. Muhammad Iqbal was signed by Mrs. Sofia, stating that in the event of divorce, she would not claim any interest in Mr. Robert’s pre-marital property, including his bungalow and existing business assets. Mr. Robert and Mrs. Sofia subsequently proceeded with the marriage legally.
Dr. Syasya, a Malaysian Muslim revert and professional, intends to marry a businessman holding a Pakistani passport in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Due to time constraints, Dr. Syasya appointed KIQA Syariah Consultancy to prepare, review, and coordinate the entire marriage documentation process, including foreign documents and regulatory requirements. All documents were successfully completed, authenticated, and submitted in accordance with the prescribed procedures, enabling the couple to proceed with the solemnization and legal marriage registration in Malaysia.
Mr. Ridzuan, a Malaysian citizen, and Puan Ariyanti, an Indonesian citizen, were married and later divorced in Malaysia and have three children. Puan Ariyanti, who is currently pursuing her studies in Norway with the children, appointed KIQA Syariah Consultancy to handle the divorce confirmation and the validation of a mutual settlement agreement covering maintenance, matrimonial property, and child custody. Through negotiations between both parties, a mutual settlement agreement was finalized and endorsed by the Syariah Court.
